Dr. Sam Najmabadi: Building an Exceptional Brand in Fertility Tourism

Destination Spotlight

In his early days as a medical student, Dr. Sam Najmabadi had always had a passion for medicine and demonstrated a commitment to helping people achieve their desired quality of life. After an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology at the University of California, San Diego, and completion of his medical education in 1991, Dr. Najmabadi pursued his interest in Obstetrics and Gynecology at USC, and then a further Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and infertility at the same institution.

Fast forward more than two decades and Dr. Najmabadi has become a force to reckon with in reproductive health and fertility treatments. Dr. Najmabadi, who is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology has achieved robust expertise in reproductive and fertility medicine, with enormous achievements that have won him several professional laurels and awards, including the Ortho Pharmaceutical Uwe Goebelsmann, M.D., memorial research award and scholarship.

Dr. Najmabadi, a member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, American Society of Reproductive Surgeons, and the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, has been active in research focused on novel fertility treatments, and developing effective therapies for reproductive conditions, such as polycystic ovarian syndrome. He has also been involved in expanding research on advanced fertility procedures, such as egg, sperm, and embryo freezing, as well as embryo culture technology.

Dr. Najmabadi leads a team of highly trained specialists and medical staff in a renowned fertility center located on the luxurious Punta Mita peninsula on the north end of the Banderas bay in the Mexican state of Nayarit. Punta Mita Hospital Fertility Center, founded by him , combines leisure and recreation with excellent fertility services.

The hospital is renowned for top-line fertility care services, with advanced treatments, including minimally invasive procedures such as tubal repair surgery, tubal reversal surgery after ligation, and laparoscopic treatments for endometriosis and other chronic pelvic problems. The fertility center also has an on-site fertility lab with state-of-the-art equipment, one of which is the embryoscope, which uses a powerful imaging processor to monitor embryos in the first hours of life before and after implantation, thus, helping to select the best embryos for IVF.

The lab also houses diagnostic tools for the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic fertility procedures, including egg donation, blastocyst hatching, sex selection, pre-implantation genetic diagnosis, PEAKTM Platelet-rich plasma ovarian rejuvenation system, and stem cell treatment for fertility and reproductive conditions.

Dr. Najmabadi is also the founder and director of the Center for Reproductive Health & Gynecology, located in Beverly Hills and Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, California. With the expertise of Dr. Najmabadi and his team, the center prides itself as one of the first fertility centers in the world and the first in the United States to provide non-invasive chromosome screening for pre-implantation genetic screening for genetic abnormalities. Essentially, mothers can undergo genetic testing of embryos without having a biopsy using this non-invasive method, which comes with a lower risk of embryo damage compared to a biopsy.

The center is also one of only 17 locations across the U.S. that have the Vitrolife Embryoscope technology, a time-lapse incubating system that creates a stable environment for embryos to thrive with minimal external disturbance. Without this powerful time-lapse system, embryos would be retrieved from the incubator routinely to monitor their health and progress, exposing them to external stressors and potential damage.

Further, the embryology team at the center uses advanced vitrification technology for egg and embryo freezing and thawing, which increases egg survival rates up to 80%, fertilization rates to over 80%, and pregnancy rates well above 50%.

Dr. Najmabadi continues to receive positive patient reviews from clients and patients from around the world, with couples leaving positive remarks and high ratings about the success rates and quality of treatments offered he provides across all his practices. Dr. Najambadi has also been rated highly for his personalized approach to fertility and reproductive health problems, offering patients a holistic and targeted solution to their unique fertility needs.

Dr. Najmabadi, who is a past Assistant Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Southern California School of Medicine, is currently an Adjunct Assitant Professor at Turo University of California College of Osteopathic Medicine.
